Coordinated Entry System Administrator

DESCRIPTION: Primarily responsible for the leadership of South Dakota’s Coordinated Entry System by providing oversight and continued development.  The Coordinated Entry System (CES) links people experiencing homelessness to housing programs across the State of South Dakota through an assessment of personal needs, case conferencing and referral to services.  

Duties consist of outreach to all areas of South Dakota to build relationships and enhance coordination of services; oversight of the complex inter-jurisdictional and inter-agency CES; and coordinate and compile information and data for program evaluation and reporting to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  This position will work with both federal and state funded programs and multiple agencies across the state.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidate must be a critical thinker, a change agent, and an implementer possessing strong analytical and negotiating skills and an assertive attitude towards relationship building.  Candidate must demonstrate strong written, verbal, research and organizational skills; be able to problem solve; be a self-starter; and have the ability to tackle complex situations and multiple responsibilities while working with numerous organizations.

Must have a Bachelor's Degree plus at least two years professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in providing housing assistance, management or social work.  In state travel and some out of state travel will be required.

LOCATION:  Pierre, SD

STARTING SALARY:  $19.14 to $21.75 per hour.  SDHDA offers paid employee health, dental and vision insurance plus ten paid holidays, generous vacation and sick leave accrual and retirement.

Coordinator of Technical Services

DESCRIPTION: Primarily responsible for evaluating and monitoring the physical condition of multifamily properties to assure compliance with program and loan requirements as well as federal, state and local housing codes and regulations. Conduct physical inspections of sites throughout South Dakota. Review and analyze financial information on SDHDA-financed properties related to physical aspects of the property to ensure long-term viability and adherence to mortgage loan requirements. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints and help to resolve problems where appropriate. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidate must possess analytical and negotiating skills and an assertive attitude towards relationship building. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree plus at least two years professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in federal housing programs, multifamily property management, and knowledge of building codes preferred. Must have ability to communicate professionally and concisely, both orally and in writing. Individuals should be self-starters with a high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently and in teams. Must be able to track and complete work within multiple deadlines. Must have valid South Dakota driver’s license and have ability to travel extensively. Access to company vehicle available.

LOCATION:  Pierre, SD (frequent statewide travel required)

Home Repair Service Technician

DESCRIPTION: Primarily responsible for repairs resulting from the delivery and installation of Governor’s Houses.  The Governor’s House Program is a program funded by SDHDA, in which prison inmates at the Mike Durfee State Prison build low-cost, low-maintenance, energy efficient homes to income qualified individuals and families.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidate must possess excellent customer service and trade skills; experience working with a variety of clients; general knowledge of home repair and improvement; and the ability to communicate professionally. The ability to fix sheetrock cracks, siding, shingles and alignment of doors a plus.  Successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED or a combination of three years of related education and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LOCATION: Statewide, SD (travel within the state required)

Pilot Car Escort Driver

DESCRIPTION: Primarily responsible for driving a company pilot car and assisting with the delivery and installation of Governor’s Houses. QUALIFICATIONS: Successful Successful candidate must possess excellent customer service and trade skills; experience working with a variety of clients; basic knowledge of State DOT Escort vehicle requirements, rules, and regulations; experience with hydraulic jacks, metal beams and other heavy equipment; and the ability to communicate professionally.  Home transport experience a plus.  Successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED or a combination of three years of related education and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Must have good driving record.

LOCATION: Springfield, SD (travel within the state required)

Moving Supervisor

DESCRIPTION: Primarilyresponsible for the daily supervision of the moving crew, consisting of five or more employees, including pilot drivers, set-up truck drivers and house moving truck drivers. Duties include scheduling, permitting, routing and general organization of the moving crew’s daily activities. The position includes extensive in-state travel.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successfulcandidate must possess a class A CDL and supervisory experience. Successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED and minimum five years of experience in the house moving field and show the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform duties. Successful candidate should have previous supervisory experience, be motivated and have the ability to problem-solve. Some experience with computers is helpful.

LOCATION: Springfield, SD
