HOME REPAIR SERVICE TECHNICIAN
($500 HIRING INCENTIVE)
SOUTH DAKOTA HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
DESCRIPTION: Primarily responsible for repairs resulting from the delivery and installation of Governor’s Houses. The Governor’s House Program is a program funded by SDHDA, in which prison inmates at the Mike Durfee State Prison build low-cost, low-maintenance, energy efficient homes to income qualified individuals and families.
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidate must possess excellent customer service and trade skills; experience working with a variety of clients; general knowledge of home repair and improvement; and the ability to communicate professionally. The ability to fix sheetrock cracks, siding, shingles and alignment of doors a plus. Successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED or a combination of three years of related education and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LOCATION: Statewide, SD (travel within the state required)
STARTING SALARY: Negotiable, minimum starting pay $18.73 per hour.
BENEFITS: SDHDA pays 100 percent of employees health, dental and vision insurance plus a percentage of family coverage. Option for employer contributed Health Savings Account. Additionally, paid family leave, eleven paid holidays, and accrual of 15 vacation and 14 sick days annually. Participation in state retirement plan with SDHDA matching 6% and option to contribute to supplemental retirement.

CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR
SOUTH DAKOTA HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
DESCRIPTION: Primarily responsible for training and supervising inmates on construction of the Governor’s Houses. The Governor’s House Program is funded by SDHDA, and provides the opportunity for inmates at the Mike Durfee State Prison to build low-cost, low-maintenance, energy efficient homes for income qualified individuals and families.
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidate must possess excellent customer service and construction trade skills; experience operating fork lift and other equipment; the ability to lift and carry heavy objects; knowledge of building codes and on-the-job safety; and the ability to communicate professionally. Successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED and three years of construction experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to build and construct houses. Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and pass an extensive background check for SD Department of Corrections.
LOCATION: Mike Durfee State Prison, Springfield, SD
STARTING SALARY: Depending on experience. $25.07 per hour minimum.
